Jordan Peterson is made Better by the Women in his Life
The Rising Visibility of Jordan's Wife and Daughter bring out the longer term importance of his cultural impact.
.@daytona400f and I went to Santa Rosa last night for the @jordanbpeterson event. Had a great time. It was a lot of fun doing a road trip with Rik. Rik has become "The Stig" of my channel. :)
We've been to a number of these events before his illness, first one since then. Pretty standard. It's sort of pitched as a "book tour" but it's more like a "third hemisphere" opportunity for @jordanbpeterson to think out loud about something.
JBP's wife Tammy "hosted" this one which for me was very special. If you aren't watching the @PageauJonathan Tammy convos on her channel you should.
She's not at all in the "culture war" space and with her the conversation naturally steers more towards the religious, social, familial and practical areas of @jordanbpeterson 's work which is the area I'm most interested in.
His talk was focused on one of the rules from the new book about trying to do one thing as hard as you can but per these events he wanders over the landscape a bit. I thought a good amount of practical wisdom for young people in it.
The hushed moment of the talk I thought was a brief climax when he touched on faith. You could tell it was for him a space that he wants to and needs to continue to explore.
Both Tammy and @jordanbpeterson looked to be in good health. I'm always impressed at Jordan's energy in these events. All that travel, an hour on stage monologuing, 20 minutes of Q/A, VIP event after, wow.
I think the inclusion of Tammy and @MikhailaAleksis in the tour is a great thing. Being with the women in his family softens him, points him away from a lot of the culture war stuff and I think allows a softer, funnier, more pragmatic side of him to shine.
So I hope this trend continues. @jordanbpeterson rose to fame on a lot of culture war drama, but politics is now and religion is always. Politics is pennies and religion is dollars. Jordan is made better by the women in his life.
The original Hebrew from Genesis can be translated that God ripped Adam in half to make Eve. The "side" in the story can be translated as one entire side of him was taken as God created Eve. Masculinity has its burdens and one of the heaviest is a a particular absence of the feminine... We are All made better when we have the women in our lives around us.
