Interesting metaphor - but wonder if this could easily be read as the traditional Heaven/Earth distinction, or the Spiritual vs Material. There seems to be some rationalism critique here too - partly similar to the Eastern charge against the Western Tradition.
I have appreciated the five parter on jbp and jv. You seem to really respect jv and jbp could have learned more and possibly oriented himself out of these circular arguments he’s trapped in if he listened a little more .
I believe this eyes up/down metaphor is going to be useful in conversation. I'm wondering: Are the 'eyes down' hunting/tracking Good (James 3:16-17) while the the 'eyes up' are gazing at its Sovereignty (Genesis 50:19-20)? Thoughts?

Are Gnostics and Woo-folk, Pagans and the Like lumped into the Eyes Up category?
